I feel that alarmists who go around claiming that everything is "racist" or "sexist" have clearly never heard of the fable "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" because now when legitimate racism or sexism shows up, no one will notice or care.
Oh really, and just who are these "racist" you refer to? The entire premise behind "dog whistle" is so the left can label anyone a racist. It allows an phrase or word they choose to became a racist word or phrase. Real racism is in rapid decline, which threatens the lefts power over minorities, so they come up with ridiculous concepts like "dog whistle". Anyone parroting the idea is either dishonest or ignorant.
Go onto google, look up rick Perry, Michelle Bachman, Newt Gingrich, oh hell just look up any Republican. They're always saying silly things like "No one knows whether Hispanics will ever reach IQ parity with whites, but the prediction that new Hispanic immigrants will have low-IQ children and grandchildren is difficult to argue against." and "“The average IQ of immigrants in the United States is substantially lower than that of the white native population, and the difference is likely to persist over several generations.” You know, harmless stuff
Far from it, real racism is alive and well, it's just not kosher to be racist anymore. Just because we can't say the word nigger in public anymore doesn't mean that all racial relations are peachy keen
Ha, you are a LIAR! The quote wasn't said by any of the people you mentioned. In fact the guy who said it wasn't a politician and was forced out of the position he held by CONSERVATIVES. Nice try LOSER!
“You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking!” – Democrat Joe Biden, Vice President
“I love this quote. It’s from Mahatma Gandhi. He ran a gas station down in St. Louis for a couple of years. Mr. Gandhi, do you still go to the gas station? A lot of wisdom comes out of that gas station” – Democrat Hillary Clinton, Former Secretary of Stat
“In about 18 months from now, hopefully [state Sen. Vincent Sheheen] will have sent Nikki Haley back to wherever the hell she came from and this country can move forward.”– Former South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian
“I mean you’ve got the first sort of mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and nice-looking guy.” – Democrat Joe Biden, Vice President
“[Harry Reid] was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as a Obama — a ‘light-skinned’ African American with ‘no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.’” – Democrat Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, as quoted in the book Game Change
“You know what I think of Mr. Parker right now and you know, you’re not even going to like this. He’s just an arrogant nigger, and I’m sorry to say it that way but that’s the way I see Dwayne Parker right now.” - Democrat Michigan Township Clerk Gloria Platko
Well let me see, there's Joe Biden saying something that seems racist to me. That's if the quote is true and not just made up.
Second, that's a little bit confusing joke or something about Hillary clinton mocking Ghandi . . . I don't really understand it.
Who the fuck is Nikki Haley?
Yeah that remark by Joe is pretty racist.
Yeah Harr Reid seems a bit racist too.
I'd not heard the last quote.
That said, the difference between Republicans and democrats is that Republicans say much worse and they're proud of their racism. This is pretty tame stuff next to the people behind the self deportation policy and voter suppression.
This is so true. This seems to be the platform of the Democratic party; lulling the American public away from possible opposition with handy, easy-to-use terms and phrases that keep them away from the blatant truth, and having the media in their pocket helps support that platform. But it is a rickety one, and hopefully it'll come crashing down by the time I've moved past college.
I think that you are taking this exercise a little far, iMaksim. After all, this particular piece here implies that racism is a relatively good thing (As it may serve a useful purpose, i.e., ...) that should be ignored, perhaps swept under the rug; so very much so that if anyone brings up the reality that racism, bigotry in general & more importantly, exists then they can be labeled something like a "fear mongerer".
This is a label that primarily belongs to those on the other side of the ideologically political divide, i.e., the more conservative someone is the more likely they are to be a bigot and the more liberal someone is the less likely they are to be a bigot.
That's a fact of life. At least here in the United States anyway.
You said, "this particular piece here implies that racism is a relatively good thing". THE HELL IF DOES! I don't think you understand the satire. I'll help you, I'm Conservative, and this is a critical statement against the left who call people that they disagree with racist, FALSELY. Unless you have experienced this or at lest witnessed it, I could see how you don't get it. However I made this almost four years ago, it has been spread around far further than just deviantArt and you are the first to give it this reaction. I don't know if that means anything.
Also you are mistaken to think racism and bigotry is more likely from conservatives. You have bought into one of the lefts swears against conservatives. The truth is, most conservatives think this MLK quote is the most beautiful thing ever said about race, because it's the world we also dream of.
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Right now the best and brightest Conservatives are almost all minorities. Marko Rubio, Mia Love, Ted Cruz, Nikki Haley, Artur Davis, Bobby Jindal, Susana Martinez. Then their are our old guard, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and my fav Clarence Thomas.
I see bigotry from the left everyday. In the way white liberals think minorities can't get ahead without help, as if they just don't quite have what it takes. And with their soft bigotry of low expectations. Then there is the bigotry against Christians, it is rampant in left-wing circles. So is antisemitism.
